Crawley today boosted their firepower with the signing of well-travelled striker Marcus Richardson from Cambridge United.

The 29-year-old has played almost 200 League games for nine different clubs, including Torquay, Hartlepool, Lincoln and Chester.

He is the third player Reds have signed in the last week following the arrivals of defenders Magnus Okuonghae and Ronnie Bull from St Albans and Grays respectively.

Caretaker boss John Yems said: "He (Richardson) has a lot of experience and will be a real handful for defenders.

"He is quite a big lad and will give us a physical presence up front which maybe we have been lacking."
