Worthing boss Danny Bloor slammed the Rebels boo-boys after his struggling young team lost 3-0 against Heybridge Swifts at Woodside Road.

Goalkeeper Rikki Banks was caught flat-footed as David Cowley put Swifts ahead in the second minute.

Sean Marks headed the second in the 40th minute before a back pass from Sonny Cobbs went through Banks' legs for the third on the hour. Banks did make some fine saves and veteran Paul Rogers tried to pass on his experience but it was not enough for the Rebels, who remain in the bottom three.

Bloor said: "The booing was upsetting for the young players. I can take it but it effects the confidence of boys when they get it. Some idiot people don't realise that. It doesn't help.

"I still believe we can get out of trouble. We have a big game on Saturday at AFC Wimbledon in front of 3,000 and will go there with no fear."

Horsham boss John Maggs refused to panic after his side were given a 5-0 drubbing at table-topping Chelmsford City.

Hornets struggled without injured trio Gary Charman (foot), Stuart Myall (knee) and Lewis Taylor (knee), plus the suspended Jacob Mingle.

Maggs said: "We have a small squad. The injuries and suspension have shown that up.

"Teams who lack depth, like ourselves, can be exposed at the sharp end of the season."

Midfielder Mingle returns for the trip to play-off rivals Hampton and Richmond tomorrow as Hornets bid to get back on track.
