Eastbourne Borough will bid to end an eight-year jinx and boost their play-off chances by beating Havant and Waterlooville tonight.

Borough have not tasted victory against the Hawks since a famous triumph as Langney Sports in an FA Cup second qualifying round replay back in 1999.

The Hampshire outfit have proved something of a bogey side ever since.

Borough boss Garry Wilson says they must end that poor run if they are to begin closing a seven-point gap on the top five.

Wilson said: "I don't know why we have struggled against Havant over the years but we must overcome that mental barrier.

"We've been unlucky against them in recent matches but it's just a case of getting a result."

Ben Austin returns following suspension but midfielder Matt Smart could be facing a spell on the sidelines after injuring his foot in the 2-1 win at Salisbury on Saturday.

Horsham welcome back midfielder Jacob Mingle for tonight's Ryman Premier trip to Hampton and Richmond.

Mingle was suspended on Saturday when Hornets crashed 5-0 at Chelmsford.

Gary Charman and Lewis Taylor are still sidelined by injury although defender Stuart Myall might be fit enough to sit on the bench.

John Maggs said: "Jacob will make a big difference but we are still struggling with injuries and the bench will be full of kids again."

Littlehampton Town moved out of the bottom two in the County League last night as Stuart Bennett hit his second matchwinning penalty in three days.
