Horsham bounced back from a heavy defeat at Chelmsford on Saturday with a 1-1 draw at fellow play-off hopefuls Hampton and Richmond Borough in the Ryman premier division last night.

Jacob Mingle fired a chance wide for the visitors before Hampton took control of the first period.

They went ahead in the 26th minute when Rob Parris headed in a Francis Quarm corner.

Horsham improved in the second half and deservedly equalised in the 67th minute. Lee Carney sent John Westcott away down the right and he crossed for Carl Rook to fire home his 17th goal of the season.

Hastings United went top of division one south for the first time this season courtesy of a 3-2 win at Ashford Town.

Sam Adams was the hero with a cracking left-foot winner in the 82nd minute after Ashford failed to deal with a long throw by Danny Spice.

Brothers Ade and Tim Olorunda each scored as Hastings came from behind to lead 2-1 at the interval.

They looked in complete control until Sean Ray was shown two yellow cards in the space of barely 60 seconds ten minutes into the second half.

Ashford made it 2-2 when Marc Cumberbatch diverted home a corner in the 63rd minute and a draw looked likely until Adams' moment of magic.
