Worthing boss Danny Bloor hopes the Sussex Senior Cup final against Albion at Eastbourne Borough next month will give his relegated side something to cheer.

A 2-1 home defeat against Harrow Borough confimed the Rebels would finish in the Ryman premier drop zone.

A 63rd-minute goal by captain Jamie Lawrence was only a consolation after the visitors had taken a two-goal lead through Elliot Onochie and James Bent after three and 60 minutes.

Bloor dismissed any suggestion he would quit and said: "We will all roll up our sleeves, dust ourselves off and make sure we finish the season with the cup.

"We are having a topsy-turvy season which is to be expected as we have so many youngsters in the team.

"But it's not all doom and gloom. Those youngsters are benefiting from the experience.

"I know I'm learning plenty, especially about the need to have people around you that you can trust.

"Most of the fans have been different class."

Carl Rook earned praised from Horsham boss John Maggs after bagging his 20th goal of the season in the 2-0 win at Ramsgate.

He netted after the interval to follow a stunning first-half 25-yard volley from Matt Geard.

Maggs said: "Carl has been superb for us. We have struggled to find a strike partner for him since Jamie Taylor left mid-season but he has still produced good performances and goals.

"He impressed against Ramsgate. It was a decent display all round from the team. I just wish it had come earlier as it would have helped keep our play-off hopes going."

Hornets had Jacob Mingle and Kevin Hemsley back after they had been among eight players sidelined by injury for the midweek draw with Worthing.
