Caretaker boss Dave Woozley says Crawley are desperate to make amends for their "worst performance of the season".

Reds had their cushion above the Conference drop-zone reduced to three points following a 2-1 defeat at Northwich Victoria on Saturday.

They will be dragged further into trouble if they fail to get a result at relegation rivals Grays this weekend.

Woozley said: "We let ourselves down against Northwich. Too many people did not perform and it has not been often this season that we have said that.

"It was very disappointing after the way we built up the game. Maybe we over built it because, the way the game panned out, we really should have won.

"It was probably the worst performance of the season and it is disappointing it came at the business end.

"But we are not going to get too down about it because it might have a negative affect for Saturday. We all want to put it right against Grays so we will analyse what we did wrong and make sure it doesn't happen again.

"We've had a good mentality all season and have normally done well after a below average performance. Hopefully we can do that again."

Defender Ben Judge and striker Lloyd Blackman are suffering no adverse effects from groin injuries after being thrown in the deep end at the last minute against Northwich.

Full-back Judge made his first start for almost three months in place of Ronnie Bull, who pulled out just before kick-off through illness.

Blackman came off the bench for the last ten minutes after making a quicker-than-expected return from a hernia operation.

Woozley said: "We had to shuffle the whole side because of Ronnie but Judgey came in and did really well.

"We never intended to put Lloyd on the bench because it was probably too soon for him but he wanted to be involved and showed a lot of enthusiasm when he came on.

"He came through it okay and the ten minutes he had will probably do him a lot of good."
