Eastbourne Borough boss Garry Wilson will throw caution to the wind for tonight's play-off make-or-break clash.

Borough make the long trip across the Welsh border to face Newport County knowing they have to win to have any realistic chance of finishing in the top five.

They are seven points adrift of fifth-placed Welling with three games in hand.

Newport are just as desperate for victory as they sit three points above Borough and also have five games left to play.

Wilson says his side are now outsiders in the play-off chase after they suffered their first defeat in 15 league games at Sutton United on Saturday.

He admitted they were punished for adopting an attacking approach but will not alter his tactics against the Welshmen.

Wilson said: "We were very keen to get forward against Sutton and it backfired on us. But we won't change things around because I believe we have to go for it.

"What is the point of going there and being defensive and only getting a draw? We will just give it a go and see what happens.

"There is no pressure on us, we never planned to be in this position, it is all on Newport because they are the home team and are very much keen to be up there."

Wilson has bemoaned the fixture backlog that has handed Borough such a long midweek trip.

It is the first of five games Borough have to play in 11 days and Wilson admits his squad is stretched to the limit.

Defender Neil Jenkins is rated 50-50 with a hamstring injury but Matt Smart and Matt Crabb are definitely out.

Last night's results: Cambridge City 2, Bognor 0; Eastleigh 0, Braintree 3; Histon 2, Sutton 1; Salisbury 3, Fisher 0; Welling 0, Basingstoke 2.
