Johanna Konta made an impressive start tonight to her bid for Wimbledon glory.
The world No.7 and sixth seed from Eastbourne gained emphatic revenge for last month's first round exit from the French Open against Su-Wei Hsieh.
Konta, showing no evidence of the back injury which forced her to pull out of Eastbourne last week after beating world No.1 Angelique Kerber, despatched the 113-ranked Taiwan veteran 6-2, 6-2 in just 64 minutes on court one.
She was ruthless after dropping serve from 40-0 up at 2-2 in the first set.
She finished Hsieh off in grand manner with a love service game completed by an ace.
Konta's probable second round opponent is Croatian Donna Vekic, who beat her recently in the final at Nottingham.
