LIONHEART Gaetan Bong has vowed to do all he can to help Albion stay up – whether he is playing or not.
Bong revealed he has been encouraging colleagues to keep their heads up during a tough recent run.
The left-back was recalled at Wolves and helped secure a clean sheet.
He told The Argus: “When I was on the bench, I was like a lion in the cage.
“Everyone knows my spirit. I am always with the team.
“Playing or not playing, this is a choice for the manager.
“I do my job and I am always there to go again.
“I stand up and talk to the boys when we have to, which means when everyone has their heads down.
“We have to say ‘heads up because it’s not finished’.
“We still have our destiny in our own hands. We still have games.”
Bong revealed both he and club captain Bruno have had their say.
He added: “When it gets tough, it is older players like me and Bruno, with experience, who need to stand up and say things.
“There is only one way to stay in this league and that is to fight.”
