Debut-maker Aaron Connolly scored as Republic of Ireland Under-21s kicked off their Maurice Revello Toulon Tournament campaign with a 4-1 win over China.
Albion striker Connolly set up the opening goal with a surging run and pullback for Zach Elbouzedi to fire home inside a minute.
Connolly then added the second after seven minutes with a sweet finish after latching on to Dara O'Shea's header.
Li Yang replied for China after 18 minutes.

Ireland made the game safe with two penalties from Adam Idah in the 55th and 80th minutes, both following handballs.
Connolly, who was named Premier League 2 player for the season for his efforts with Albion under-23s, came off after 77 minutes.
Albion's Jayson Molumby captained the Ireland side.
