Leon Balogun has been promised a chance to get back into the action.

The Albion defender will play for Nigeria in a friendly against Zimbabwe on Saturday.

Boss Gernot Rohr wants to give players short of domestic minutes a much-needed run-out.

Balogun struggled for opportunities with the Seagulls last term.

He last featured in the FA Cup replay at West Brom on February 6, when his blunder gifted the hosts a goal.

Rohr said: “I want to see a lot of players who are not playing so much, give them the opportunity to play.

“It can be for some defenders like Balogun, he is fit but he didn’t play so much, so we want to see him playing on Saturday."

Shane Duffy will be a key man at the back for the Republic of Ireland on Friday as they play Denmark in Copenhagen in a Euro 2020 qualifier.
