Johanna Konta is through to the last 16 of her home town tournament at Eastbourne.

The world No.19 defeated Greek world No.32 Maria Sakkari 6-4, 7-6 to avenge her defeat on clay in last month's Morocco Open final.

Konta took the first set with one break of serve in the fifth game, opening up the court with a drop shot which Sakkari (below) struggled to reach.

The Argus: The 14th seed fell behind in a high-quality encounter in the second set when she was broken to love to trail 5-3.

A slip behind the baseline on the first point left her shaking her right wrist. It temporarily unsettled her as two loose groundstroke presented Sakkara with a lead but Konta broke back immediately.

She took the tie-break 7-4 to clinch a clash in the last 16 against world No.62 Tunisian Ons Jabeur, who defeated Luxembourg's lucky loser Mandy Minella 2-6, 6-2, 6-1.
