REECE TOPLEY enjoyed a dream debut – and helped Sussex off to a flyer in the Vitality Blast.
The former England seamer took three wickets from four balls in only his second over for the county as they thrashed Hampshire at Hove.
He finished with 4-33 as Sussex won by 14 runs.
Topley’s starring role against his former county, and in his first match for than a year, helped Sharks home in style after setting 188-6.
Now they look forward to tackling Surrey at a sold-out 1st Central County Ground tomorrow.
Topley said: “I got hit for six and they had to get the spare ball out.
"The other one started swinging, which was nice!
“You bowl to the plan and hope it comes off and thankfully it did.”
Sharks skipper Luke Wright said: “It was a great win for us and obviously a special night for Reece Topley.”
