ROB Cross has won the Betfred World Matchplay title.
The Hastings player thumped Michael Smith 18-13 at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool tonight.
The former world champion added his name to the trophy for the first time.
Cross stormed into a 9-0 lead but Smith battled back to within two at one stage before the former electrician turned on the power to wrap up the victory.
