NEAL MAUPAY says Albion have shown their strength of squad after two subs scored.

Frontrunners Maupay and Florin Andone went on together and netted to crown the 3-0 win at Watford.

It was a debut goal for Maupay after his £16 million move from Brentford.

Maupay said: “We have got to be ready when we are on the bench.

“The gaffer made two changes and we both scored.

“It is really good to have players on and off the pitch.

“We knew we had to be ready and we made a good entry in the game.”

The double strike repeated a feat performed by Andone and Leon Balogun when both scored as subs in the win at home to Crystal Palace last season.

Albion were well-placed in mid-table at that time but ended up dangerously close to the drop zone.

Asked whether they can finish higher this time. Maupay said: “We can’t predict where we will finish but we will fight and work hard to finish as high as possible.”
