Ringmer are the only Sussex side definitely through to the third round.

On a disappointing day for County League clubs Crowborough and Rye joined them in today's draw after earning replays but the other five sides all lost.

Ringmer fell behind at home to Ardley Town but two goals from Joe Dryer put them in control and Miles Scerri and Kieran Patel struck after the break.

Crowborough showed some character to come from 2-0 down at Camberley to force a replay.

Things looked bleak when Dean Chamberlain missed a penalty and Andy Ducille hit the post but Phil Rhodes and Craig Bishop struck in the last 18 minutes to make it 2-2 and the referee forgot to play extra time.

Crows' boss Harry Smith said: "It looked like being one of those days because we had some good opportunities but we stuck at it and fancy our chances in the replay."

Rye led 2-0 at home to Cobham but they will have to replay after the visitors scored either side of half-time as it finished 2-2. Scott McDonald's clinical finish and Mark Gall's far-post tap-in had put Rye in charge.

Boss Dave Shearing warned: "They probably think the job is done but we won't roll over up there."

Manager Russel Bromage blamed horror' defending as Whitehawk slipped up 3-2 at home to Flackwell Heath.

Shaun Grice's double proved in vain and Bromage said: "We conceded three absolute horror goals and got what we deserved. Shaun did his bit but the rest of the side were very poor."

Dave John was left cursing missed chances as Lymington clung on to a first-half goal to beat his Hassocks' side 1-0.

John said: "We blew it. We were much the better side and bombarded them but the chances would not go in."

Another manager bemoaning his side's lack of a cutting edge was Three Bridges' boss Paul Faili.

They lost 1-0 at home to Camberley but missed a string of openings. "We're the best non-scoring side in the County League," he said. "We had eight or nine opportunities and the effort the lads put in was fantastic but we couldn't score."

Arundel lost 4-2 at Cowes Sports despite goals from Sean Towers and Scott Tipper while player-boss Paul Otway got Crawley Down's consolation in a 4-1 defeat at Brockenhurst.

In the County League, Selsey hammered fellow strugglers Sidley 10-0 with Ross Wolf, Tom Ridley and Clinton More all scoring two apiece.

Manager Danny Hinshelwood said: "It's a real confidence boost but we have played better this season and lost."

East Preston are up to third after a 1-0 win over Eastbourne United.
