Chairman Ryan Sallows believes Pease Pottage will soon move off the bottom of County League division two following the return of manager Bob Laundon.

Laundon guided Pottage to promotion and a cup double last season before leaving in the summer after the departure of a number of key players.

He has agreed to take over the reigns again after seeing the The Finches Field outfit struggle this season.

They are without a win so far and have conceded a staggering 59 goals in 12 league games.

Laundon almost marked his second game back in charge with victory against Mile Oak. Pottage were 3-1 up going into the last 20 minutes through goals from Joe Cutress, Mithun Nayee and Darren Norris.

But it was not to be as Titus Paterson, Scott Carden and Chris Paine netted late on for Oak to add to an earlier strike from former Pottage midfielder Lawrence Edwards.

Sallows said: "Bob has only been back a week but already there has been a big improvement. We were disappointed when he left and thought he had been a bit premature in his decision.

"He thought it was best for the club that he went at the time but has since realised it wasn't. We are very pleased he has come back and he is more than capable of getting us up the table."

New signing Dan Griffin scored a brace as second-bottom Lancing battled back from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Broadbridge Heath. The recent arrival from Storrington netted early in the second half to cancel out a first half double from Josh Archer.

Sidlesham remain in danger after going down 4-0 at Lingfield. Aarron Courtney netted twice and Metcalfe and O'Keefe also scored.

Seaford are in danger of being dragged into the relegation fight after suffering a third straight defeat at home against high-flying Littlehampton. Ryan Hudson, Adam Hunt and Simon Clayton sealed the 3-1 win for second-placed Marigolds, who moved to within six points of leaders East Grinstead. Archie Macabie netted in reply for the hosts.

Rustington lost ground in the title race after a Richard Watton strike condemned them to a 1-0 defeat against Peacehaven.

Peter Baker and Mark Drinkwater helped Westfield recover from an early Chris Duffett strike to beat Steyning 2-1.

Storrington twice came from behind in the first half to draw 2-2 at Wealden thanks to goals from Sam Witherden and Craig Grantham. Chris Morrow and Darren Gearing netted for Wealden.

East Grinstead maintained their good form in the John O'Hara Cup, beating Midhurst 2-1 at home to progress into the quarter-finals. Aaron Zimmatore and Mannie Neville completed a comeback after Gary Norgate put the visitors ahead early on.
