Andy Drury's hat-trick kept Lewes six points clear at the top of Conference south after a 4-0 home win over Havant & Waterlooville.

After a very quiet opening 25 minutes the home side cranked up the pressure and took a deserved lead on the half-hour when Drury met Jay Conroy's cross from the right with a diving header at the near post.

Four minutes later the lead was doubled when a long clearance by keeper Steve Williams caused confusion and with Havant 'keeper Mick Scriven stranded Simon Wormull's first-time effort from 30 yards flew into the corner.

After the break Drury turned on the style, grabbing his second on 55 minutes with a neat turn and left-foot shot into the roof of the net.

And with an hour gone the winger got on the end of Dale Binns' cross to side-foot home and complete his first hat-trick for the club.

He might have had a fourth later on when a curling effort rebounded to safety off the inside of Scrivens' right-hand post.

Eastbourne Borough once again came from behind to preserve their unbeaten league record with a 2-1 win at Eastleigh.

Borough suffered a number of anxious moments during a shaky first half with home winger Damian Scannell, who is shortly to join Southend, causing problems on the right.

The visitors often looked second best and when a slick Eastleigh side forced two corners in quick succession, Marc Pullan and Neil Jenkins were forced to make goal-line clearances.

Borough did have a late flurry as half-time approached with Andy Atkin and Matt Crabb testing keeper Ross Kitteridge.

Tremendous work by Scannell enabled Eastleigh to take the lead in the 57th minute. The home favourite somehow beat three Borough defenders as he cut in from the left and Adam Forbes tucked away his cross.

Borough were back on terms in the 65th minute when Atkin coolly converted Pat Harding's low cross from the right. Two minutes later Borough snatched the winner when Allan Tait rounded the keeper following a through ball from Adam Wilde, who had just replaced Matt Crabb.

In the final minute Atkin suffered an injury which could make him doubtful for Borough's New Year's Day clash with Lewes.

Bognor were held to a 1-1 draw by Basingstoke at Nyewood Lane despite taking the lead through Dan Beck's 32nd-minute effort.
