Eastbourne United will be sending a report to the Sussex FA and County League in the wake of an alleged Boxing Day bust-up between Hailsham manager Ken McCreadie and their player Matt Jones.
United boss Brian Dennis met with the club's commitee on Saturday after their 2-1 win over East Preston and confirmed that player Matt Jones was to lodge a complaint with the police yesterday.
Jones alleges he was punched by McCreadie after United's 2-1 win at the Beaconsfield after tempers flared and words were exchanged.
McCreadie has played down the incident, claiming it was nothing more than "handbags at two paces", but United manager Brian Dennis has called for his resignation.
Dennis said: "It is all a bit unsavoury and there is no place in football for this sort of thing if it has happened.
"Managers are the people who are meant to set the standards."
United's Tom Morton grabbed an 88th-minute winner against EP on Saturday after Brad Manton's opener had been cancelled out by Steven Metcalf.
Dennis said: "We haven't lost since November and we have a good running going. It's nice to be getting late winners as there was a time when we were conceding late goals."
