Ryman round-up: Horsham weathered a second- half storm to move into a play-off position in Ryman premier.

Goals from Tom Graves and Andy Howard in the first half were enough to secure a 2-1 win away to AFC Hornchurch but the Hornets were made to work for their win following a second-half onslaught from the hosts.

The visitors went ahead on 18 minutes when Stuart Myall crossed for Graves to poke home.

It was 2-0 11 minutes later when Lewis Taylor swung in a corner which caused havoc at the far post and crashed in a shot via a deflection from defender Andy Tomlinson.

Hornchurch piled forward after the interval and the pressure finally told when Michael Brothers teed up Frankie Curley for a neat finish on 68 minutes.

It was all one-way traffic for the last 20 minutes but Chris Lee headed wide while Eddie French and Simon Austin survived handball shouts inside the penalty area in a frantic finale.

Hornets have signed Stefan Cox on a month's loan from Lewes.

Worthing got back to winning ways with a 3-0 victory at home to play-off hopefuls Walton and Hersham in division one.

Man-of-the-match Jamie Brotherton broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time and Scott Kirkwood finished off a fantastic move to make it 2-0 after the interval.

The hard-working Lloyd Skinner, whose loan from Albion has been extended by a further two months, set up the third for Ben Johnson.

Joint boss Danny Bloor said: "It was as well as we have played for a long time. Having Ben Andrews and Dominic Douglas back made the world of difference."

There was a nother goal spree at Leylands Park but this time Burgess Hill pocketed all the points in a 3-2 victory over Whitstable.

That made it 18 goals in three home games and a first win in six for Jamie Howell's team.

Howell rang the changes, leaving himself on the bench and bringing in Philippines international Chris Greatwich for his first game.

Neil Watts gave Hillians a fourth-minute lead but the visitors levelled through Ian Pulman on 27 minutes.

Home skipper Steve Harper restored the advantage five minutes after the break but a minute later Liam Quinn made it 2-2.

The game was on a knife edge when Harper struck a superb winner nine minutes from time.
