Matt Smart is poised to return to give Eastbourne Borough's title hopes a massive boost.

Midfielder Smart has missed the last six games with a groin injury but is likely to be on the bench for the visit of Cambridge City tomorrow.

Defender Ben Austin, who has been sidelined for seven matches, is also in contention but striker Allan Tait is still not quite ready as Borough bid for a sixth consecutive home win to pull five points clear at the top of the table.

Boss Garry Wilson said: "It is fantastic to have Matt back because he has been a key player for us in the past. Darren Budd has been terrific in his absence and with Robbie Kember also coming in we now have real options in central midfield.

"Ben could possibly play and Allan is not far away so it is a huge boost to get three important players back for what will be a tough couple of months ahead."
