Bognor will try to achieve back-to-back wins for the first time in 16 months tomorrow without one of their most loyal servants.

Jodey Rowland has decided to bring an end to his 11 years at Nyewood Lane after failing to hold down a regular place in the team this season.

Rowland, 32, had not started a game since August and is planning to play with his friends in the West Sussex League after growing frustrated at sitting on the bench.

Joint boss Michael Birmingham said: "Jodey has been a great servant to the club but he feels he cannot give 100 per cent anymore due to other priorities. He was a great character to have in the dressing room and wasn't a bad player either so he will be sorely missed."

Birmingham is still hopeful striker Luke Nightingale will play some part this season despite a specialist confirming he will need to have surgery on his injured shoulder. Nightingale is ruled out at home to Maidenhead tomorrow along with David Birmingham.

Birmingham added: "Luke needs an operation but we don't know whether it can wait until the summer yet. I would love him to carry on playing but that is a decision for him and his family."
