Horsham striker Chamal Fenelon has revealed that an "unstable" relationship wih his girlfriend and an arrest for robbery led to him quitting Ryman premier Horsham.

Hornets have ended Fenelon's loan deal at the request of the Havant and Waterlooville striker.

He recently returned to the Hornets until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old began the term with Horsham before joining his parent club, who are in Blue Square south. Fenelon has explained how his personal problems and concern for Hornets' promotion bid forced him to take a rest from football.

He said: "I've had issues with my girlfriend in our relationship for a couple of years - I got another girl pregnant - and was arrested last week before the AFC Wimbledon game and so couldn't turn up for the match. It has been one thing after the other. "It is not so much I can't deal with the issues, it is that my football seems to be suffering because of them. I just couldn't focus.

"Horsham have got a lot at stake this season trying to get promotion.

"I wanted the best for them and myself but was unable to give it. To play your best football you need a smile on your face.

"My No.1 priority is my girlfriend. We are buying a house and settling down. With Horsham and Havant it meant a lot of travelling away that can be hard on a relationship."

Horsham have swooped for experienced former AFC Wmbledon midfielder Gavin Bolger, who has joined from Combined Counties League outfit Cove.

They also completed a deal for Woking midfielder Dean Lovegrove, 19, who played for Worthing earlier this season. They both go straight into the squad for tomorrow's league match at leaders Chelmsford City.
