Lewes returned to the top of Blue Square south with a 3-1 win away to Newport County today.
Andy Drury gave the Rooks a 34th-minute lead and they seemed to be heading for victory until Charlie Griffin levelled for the hosts with eight minutes remaining.
However, there was late drama to come as first Tom Davis restored the lead with a minute remaining and then Gary Holloway converted a penalty in stoppage time to wrap up victory.
The win moved Lewes a point above Eastbourne who lost 1-0 at home to Cambridge City on Saturday.
