Worthing skipper Ben Andrews believes his return alongside Dominic Douglas has helped revitalise Rebels' play-off hopes.

Andrews scored one, made one and put in a commanding performance alongside Douglas as Worthing beat rock bottom Moseley 3-1 at Woodside Road.

The Rebels have now won two in a row after a nightmare run of just one victory in 12.

Former Albion player Andrews, who returned in midweek after missing four games, said: "Dom and I have made a massive difference since we've returned for the past two games. Our experience and physical presence helps because we have such a young side.

"The last two results have given us confidence and we believe we can make the play-offs."

Scott Kirkwood put Worthing ahead only for Rob Wilkinson to equalise before the interval. Andrews laid on the second for Jamie Brotherton before scoring the third himself to ensure victory.

Enzo Benn, 18, made an encouraging first start at left-back.

Burgess Hill match-winner Stuart Tuck has come to the defence of returning striker Shaheen Sadough, who was sent off in the final seconds of a 3-2 win at play-off hopefuls Kingstonian.

Sadough was given a straight red after an off-the-ball clash on his first appearance since rejoining from Worthing.

Tuck said: "I was disappointed for Shaz. He has worked his socks off and didn't deserve it. It was just handbags but it seems referees are quick to show red these days."

Steve Harper, with his 18th goal of the season, and David Piper made it 2-1 after Tommy Williams had given the hosts the lead. Robert Traynor equalised nine minutes from time but Tuck headed a last-minute winner from a long throw by Danny Gainsford.

It was his first of the season following his return from an Achilles problem.

Sadough said: "I instantly felt comfortable coming back and thought I played well until I was sent off.

"I pushed the guy in the chest after he kicked me in the face. Unfortunately the referee just saw what I did. It wasn't that much but I should have known better."

Horsham YMCA skipper Tom White believes his struggling side will avoid relegation.

YM lost 2-0 at home to high-flying Tooting and Mitcham and have now scored just once in seven games.

White said: "It was typical of our season. We did pretty well but there was no end result. We've got to start winning.

"All the players feel for manager John Suter but we feel for ourselves as well. We want to get out of trouble and believe we can."

Daren Pearce, formerly of Eastbourne Borough and Bognor, made his debut after signing from County League Selsey.

Eastbourne Town boss Ady Colwell accused his players of acting like "tired schoolchildren" as they lost 3-1 at Whyteleafe.

In a game of three penalties, Danny Simmonds scored a late consolation goal for Town from the spot. Sam Clayton converted two penalties for Leafe while Steve Causon was also on target.

Town striker Liam Baitup was sent off for two bookable offences.

Colwell said: "My players spent more time arguing with decisions than concentrating on playing. The referee had lost patience when he sent off Liam.

"I've no complaints. We were pathetic. It was embarrassing. The players need to grow up."
