Havant & Waterlooville 2, Eastbourne B 1

Eastbourne Borough suffered a second successive league defeat when they went down 2-1 away to FA Cup giant-killers Havant and Waterlooville.

Borough made the early running with Matt Crabb showing superb control on the edge of the area before placing his shot wide. Minutes later, Andy Atkin was off-target with a header.

A magnificent solo goal by Rocky Baptiste stunned Borough in the 11th minute. Baptiste ran on to a through ball on the right, rounded keeper Lee Hook and beat Marc Pullan on the byline before making his way back towards goal and finishing into an unguarded net.

Rob Kember might have equalised but rolled his shot wide as Havant struggled to clear a Matt Crabb corner.

Borough found themselves two down after 18 minutes, Baptiste superbly heading home Charlie Henry's deep cross from the right by the far post.

Crabb had a great chance to pull a goal back on the stroke of half time but his close-range effort was blocked by the legs of Kevin Scriven. Havant looked menacing in the early stages of the second half with Baptiste volleying over the bar and Henry firing into the side netting.

Tempers flared as Crabb followed through on the keeper and was booked. He was immediately replaced by brother Nathan.

With 15 minutes remaining Matt Smart, returning after a long injury lay-off, replaced Darren Baker.

Borough kept battling with Armstrong going close and Scriven making a great save to deny Atkin. At the other end, Hook did well to deny Baptiste his hat-trick after the striker had dispossessed Neil Jenkins.

Jenkins pulled one back for Borough in the fifth minute of injury time.
