Horsham boss John Maggs admits his side are in danger of blowing their play-off bid after a second successive home defeat.

Like Heybridge Swifts on Tuesday, Hendon completed a smash-and-grab raid at Queen Street when Belal Aiteouakrim sealed a 2-1 win with an injury-time strike.

Maggs said: "That's two home games where we have lost to late goals and instead of getting six points, which is what I thought we would do, we've got none. At the moment we don't look good enough to make the play-offs but there are still enough games to put it right."

If Horsham do make it they will have done it the hard way with eight of their remaining 12 matches away, starting at Harlow tomorrow. Maggs said: "We've got the toughest run-in of all the teams at the top and there is a bit do. But we are capable of improving."

Lee Farrell had given Hornets a 33rd-minute lead from Lewis Taylor's cross and Jacob Mingle twice went close to adding to their score.

But Hendon fought back after the break and Brian Haule levelled on 72 minutes before Horsham suffered heartbreak for the second successive game.

Hastings United remain in relegation bother after suffering their heaviest league defeat since the opening day of the season.

Tony Dolby's men lost 4-0 at AFC Wimbledon in front of a crowd of 2,711 although they did not have much luck.

Trailing 2-0 to Sam Hatton's 25-yard free-kick and Robin Shroot's tap-in, they twice hit the woodwork through on-loan striker Danny Leach in the space of three minutes.

The Dons made the game safe when United keeper Lee Worgan helped Hatton's cross over his own line before substitute Steve Ferguson got a fourth goal when he headed home Chris Hussey's cross.
