Joint-boss Danny Bloor hailed the impact of Ben Andrews and Dominic Douglas after Worthing made it four wins on the trot in Ryman division one south with a 2-1 success at Chipstead.

After a dismal January, the Rebels are now back in the play-off mix and Bloor believes the return of his more experienced players has been key.

Douglas scored the winner at Chipstead and Worthing boast a 100 per cent record since he and Andrews returned to the side.

Bloor said: "Ben and Dominic didn't play as well as they can do (at Chipstead) but having them there has made such a difference to our young players."

Scott Kirkwood gave Worthing a first-half lead with an excellent finish but Danny Oakins levelled from the penalty spot for Chipstead after a foul by Ollie Rowland.

The hosts then had Darrell Coleman sent off for a two-footed lunge at substitute Mark Pulling before Douglas hit the winner ten minutes from with a close-range finish.

Steve Harper celebrated his golden boot award for February with another goal as Burgess Hill won 2-0 at home to Whyteleafe.

Shaheen Sadough got the final touch on Tom Edmonds' header for the second goal to keep the Hillians' outside hopes of the play-offs alive.

Manager Jamie Howell said: "Steve has made a big difference. He is someone who can put away those half chances which is something we could not capitalise on earlier in the season.

"I think the play-offs could be too far for this year but you never know. If we keep churning out the wins we will be in the mix."

Horsham YMCA will go into their biggest game of the season so far next weekend full of confidence after earning a vital point at Walton and Hersham.

Ali Russell gave YMCA the lead after just four minutes after James Grant's shot had been parried but the hosts hit back three minutes later through a Will Jenkins header.

YM are still seven points adrift of Corinthian Casuals, who they take on at Gorings Mead next Saturday, and boss John Suter admits it is a game they cannot afford to lose.

He said: "It is a massive game for us but we are starting to show a bit of form."

Eastbourne Town eased their worries at the bottom with a thumping 4-1 home win over Ashford Town.

Gary Brockwell put Town ahead on 14 minutes, cutting in from the left before drilling a right-foot shot past Jamie Riley.

It was 2-0 six minutes later when Nicky Humphrey's back-header was pounced on by Baitup who then robbed former Hastings' defender Sean Ray to set up John Piercy.

Baitup struck again on 65 minutes with his 18th league goal of the season. Town boss Ady Colwell said: "We were committed, kept the ball for long periods and scored some great goals."
