Eastbourne Eagles will make James Brundle the seventh and final member of their team for the new season.

The 21-year-old from King's Lynn will sign today, probably on a loan basis, from his home-town track.

Brundle did enough in practice at Arlington yesterday to convince Eagles promoter Martin Hagon he has what it takes to fill the vacant reserve berth alongside Simon Gustafsson.

Eagles decided against bringing in Danish prospect Jonas Raun over the weekend after learning he had domestic matters to sort out in his home country.

Hagon said: "James is coming from a big track so we will give him time but it's a great opportunity for him. He has everything to gain."

Brundle averaged 5.97 at reserve for King's Lynn in 2007 as they topped the regular season Premier League table.

His arrival means Eagles will track five Englishmen in an Elite League otherwise dominated by foreign riders.
