Injury-jinxed Ross Minter is recovering after a DIY accident.
The Crawley welterweight, who was hoping to return to the ring in September, badly cut his left thumb at home.
He will not be able to train properly for five weeks.
Minter, who unsuccessfully challenged for the WBU welterweight title against Michael Jennings in February, said: "After a month off after the Jennings fight I had started training again and was waiting for a fight date.
"There was talk of me fighting Freddie Curiel again in another Contender series in July at the 02 Arena.
"I was well up for that and thought it would be nice to avenge that unlucky loss.
"But unfortunately I had an accident drilling a piece of metal."
