Iden went top of the table after White-washing leaders Ringmer.

Captain David White cracked 129 not out, sharing a stand of 150 with his brother Michael (75) as Iden rattled up 267-4 declared.

Visitors Ringmer were then undone by the bowling of Robin Mayes who claimed 6-43 to dismiss them for 133 in just 32 overs.

Defeat sent Ringmer slipping from first to fourth.

White said: "It was a very good win because we didn't have a good side out. We only had six or seven of our first-team regulars.

"My brother and I put on 150 and then we blew them away. Robin Mayes bowled really well, which was good because he also troubled them last year.

"It was a really good all-round performance considering the side we had. We didn't think we would be top at the halfway stage so it is pleasing and we are back to full strength for our local derby with Rye this week.

"We have just got to keep going. We want to win it but we will see what happens. The main thing is we are enjoying our cricket."

Gary Holder provided the only highlights for Ringmer, taking 3-61 and sharing in a last-wicket stand of 49 with Dan Wade.

Crowhurst Park moved back into second place after returning to winning ways against Tunbridge Wells Borderers.

The reigning champions recovered from 27-3 to post 175 all out with Jon Hancock scoring 42 and Michael Legg 38. Returning South African Wessels Woolmerans took six wickets and Dean Serra collected three.

Serra then hit 65 in reply for the hosts who slumped from 50-1 to 88-8 and then 119 all out. Victor Walcott claimed a hat-trick, all caught behind by wicketkeeper and stand-in captain Martin Barry.

Skipper Pete Eames said: "After an appalling performance the previous week when we lost to Rottingdean it was great to come back with a win."

Next up for Park are third-placed Barcombe who continued their excellent form with a nine-wicket win at home to Willingdon. Allan Trower (4-42) and John Petch (3-36) combined to dismiss the visitors for 134, then Matt Lloyd (73 not out) and Matt Tucker (52) knocked off the runs.

Jo Waylett and Chris Murphy each took 3-31 and Rupert Thacker picked up 3-42 as Newick dismissed their visitors for 174, Ian Long scoring 64. Murphy top scored in reply with 63 as the hosts claimed a five-wicket win.

Battle are the new leaders after beating St Peters by five wickets. Saints never recovered from slumping to 76-7 despite a knock of 42 not out from Paul Batchelor which helped them to 154 all out. Bowling honours went to Mick Gedeye (4-55) and Ed Scrivener (3-33).

Luke Neave (40 not out), Gedeye (39) and Ben Ridgway (30) were in good form as Battle knocked off the runs. Newhaven climbed into second place after a three-wicket win at home to Herstmonceux. A fifth-wicket stand of 67 between Graham Bennett (56) and Simon Green (22) helped the visitors recover from 36-4 to 175.

Seven dropped catches did not help Newhaven who were in trouble at 79-5 with Alan Smith taking 4-87 but they still went on to win with five overs to spare with Billy Khan striking 61.

The other two games ended in draws, Buxted Park making 212-7 against Pevensey who replied with 192-8. For Buxted, Lloyd Burgess scored 59, Dan Hopkins 46 and Trevor Blunt 40 then Paul Francis took four wickets. Robertsbridge made 218-9 against Eastbourne III who scored 197-6.
