Sam Francis has been hailed by his manager after a record-breaking hat-trick.
The striker scored what is believed to be the quickest treble in Whitehawk’s history following his seven-minute blast against Horsham YMCA in midweek.
And that came just a couple of minutes after being introduced as a substitute.
Francis, who has been carrying an injury, was thrown on with ten minutes to go and opened his account on 83 minutes. He added a second from the penalty spot two minutes later and then completed his hat-trick in the 90th minute.
Hawks boss George Parris, the former West Ham and Albion midfielder, said: “They were three different goals. One was a penalty and the third was a tap-in but the other was a really good finish.
“I have seen a few hat-tricks in my career but nothing as quick as that, especially from a subsitute.
“Sam is not properly fit yet, which is why he was on the bench, and we just need to get him right.
“We hope Sam can score as many goals as possible. If you want to be successful you have to score a certain amount of goals. Hopefully not just Sam but others can chip in as well.”
