Bognor remain bottom of Conference South after they lost 1-0 at Dorchester last night.

It was the Dorset side’s first win of the season and the best the Rocks deserved from a poor game was a point.

Ryan Moss scored the only goal, beating Bognor’s man-of-the-match Chris Tardif with a superb shot from 25 yards after picking up the ball in midfield.

Tardif made excellent saves either side of the goal and was nearly Bognor’s saviour in the dying stages when he went up for a free-kick and had a header cleared off the line.

The defeat, Bognor’s second in four days, leaves Mick Jenkins’ men still two points adrift at the foot of the table.

It might have been a different story at a bitterly cold Avenue Stadium if Tom Clarke had done better with a chance in the tenth minute instead of shooting wide after being set up by ex-Dorchester striker Jones Awuah and Steffan Gaisie.

Bognor’s best chance of the second half saw Funnell strike a post with a 20-yard free-kick.
