Greg Pearson struck four minutes into injury time to rob Eastbourne Borough of a deserved point at Priory Lane.

Borough looked to have held the leaders to a 1-1 draw only for Pearson to stab home a winner from close range.

It was harsh on Borough who had led through Danny Brown's 25th minute header only for substitute Martin Butler to score a controversial equaliser 18 minutes after the break.

Borough had more than matched the visitors in the first half and Brown capped a fine individual display with a powerful header from Matt Crabb's corner.

Crabb almost doubled the lead with a fierce drive which was well saved by Kevin Poole but Burton also had their chances.

Lee Hook blocked well from Darren Stride and then kept out a Lee Morris effort from point-blank range.

Burton got on top in the second half and were level in the 63rd minute when Butler raced through to beat Hook as Borough's players appealed for offside.

Paul Armstrong twice went close to restoring Borough's lead in the final ten minutes as he headed wide from Jay Lovett's cross and then shot past a post following good work by Matt Crabb.

Burton refused to give up though and grabbed the winner when a high cross from John McGrath was headed back across goal by Mark Byrne and stabbed home by Pearson.
