Lewes had Chris Breach sent off as they went down 2-0 away to Barrow.

Breach saw a straight red for bringing down Lee McEvilly as the last defender four minutes before half-time.

McEvilly, who was making his debut on loan from Rochdale, got up to take the penalty but Rikki Banks saved well.

Lewes were already trailing at that stage, having fallen behind in the seventh minute when McEvilly headed home a Brendan McGill cross.

Barrow scored a second on 61 minutes when Lee Hunt headed home from close-range after another good save from Banks to deny McEvilly.

Lewes are technically still not relegated although their fate could be sealed on Tuesday when three of their fellow strugglers are in action.

The Rooks, who have now lost 17 Blue Square premier games on the trot, are next in action away to Forest Green next Saturday.

Lewes: Banks, Barness, Cullip, Breach, Fisk (sub Storrie), Hall, Wheeler, Keehan, Rivers (sub Henry), Foreman, Cox (sub A.Wilkinson).
