Bognor’s mini-revival hit the buffers as they went down 2-0 at Bishop’s Stortford.
Four wins from the last six games had sparked hopes of a great escape but they failed to make further ground on the teams above them after being sunk by two goals just before the break, A fine free-kick from Mark Wright gave the home side the lead in the 41st minute before Danny Harris doubled their advantage in stoppage time.
Jordan Hughes had three good opportunities to get the Rocks back into the game in the second half but was unable to take them.
