Crawley handed league debuts to six players for their Blue Square premier opener at Mansfield today.
Karl Broadhurst partnered Chris Giles in the centre of defence in the absence of skipper Adam Quinn, who limped out of Wednesday's 4-1 friendly win over Spurs with a calf injury.
A new-look midfield saw Eddie Hutchinson and Ben Smith in the central areas with Danny Powell on the right.
Charles Ademeno partnered ex-Mansfield player Jefferson Louis up front with Jamie Cook detailed to make it three up front by coming in from the left-hand side.
Thomas Pinault was also missing because of injury but Former Reds' striker Daryl Clare was left on Mansfield's bench but another former Crawley player, midfielder Gary Mills, led the side out after his appointment as captain following a summer move from Stevenage.
