Bognor hopes of avoiding relegation from Ryman premier took another knock as they went down 1-0 at Billericay.

Danny Charge scored the only goal of the game after eight minutes when he charged down a clearance from goalkeeper Anthony Ender and rolled the ball into the net.

The result leaves the Rocks four points adrift of safety with three games to play but joint boss Jamie Howell remains optimistic they can pull off a great escape.

Howell said: “We still believe we can do it. We play Waltham Abbey who are bottom tomorrow and then Maidstone who are just above us on Thursday and if we can win both of them it might be enough.

“There is a possibility less than four will go down so every place is key. We want to make sure we are safe by right but if not we have got to give ourselves the best chance by finishing as high as we can.

“We got what we deserved on Saturday. The players put in the effort but we are short of quality and that is why we are where we are in the league.”

Dan Beck could be a doubt for tomorrow's vital clash with Waltham Abbey after missing Saturday's game with tonsilitis.

Horsham’s final final game of the season at Gorings Mead ended in a fifth defeat in six at their temporary home as Wealdstone won 3-1.

The visitors took control thanks to two superb volleys from outside the box by Matt McClure after 19 minutes and then ten minutes into the second half.

Good work by Tony Nwachukwu enabled Pat Harding to slide in his 25th goal of the season to reduce the arrears.

But Chris O'Leary restored Wealdstone's two-goal lead after Hornets failed to clear Lee Chappell's long throw.

Ben Andrews was denied by keeper Sean Thomas late on but McClure nearly completed his hat-trick when another piledriver clipped the crossbar.

Hastings United’s hopes of reaching the play-offs faded as they were held to a goalless draw by Kingstonian despite dominating their visitors.

United slipped out of the play-off positions and must hope the teams above them slip-up in midweek action if they are to stand a chance of sneaking back in on the last Saturday.
