East Grinstead have completed back-to-back national outdoor titles.
The Saint Hill club won the men’s championship play-off in thrilling style at Cannock today.
Trailing 4-1 to Beeston with 11 minutes remaining, they fought back to force extra time thanks to a hat-trick from Gareth Carr in the closing stages.
The extra period could not separate the sides but Grinstead were crowned national champions for a second successive year after winning 5-3 on penalty strokes with Carr hitting the winner.
