Hastings United finally saw off Whitehawk on a night of plenty of goals in the Ryman League's Championship Manager Cup.
Tony Dolby's side were held to a 3-3 draw after extra time by their division one south visitors but went down 5-4 on penalties.
Sam Adams scored twice for Hastings with Fraser Logan also on target, while Wes Tate, Josh Jones and Paul Armstrong netted for Hawks.
Horsham hammered Bognor 5-1 with goals from Allan Tait (two), Steve Davies, Anthony Storey (penalty) and Tony Nwachukwu. Dean Maynard hit a consolation.
Burgess Hill went one better when they beat Worthing 6-1 at Woodside Road thanks to Steve Harper (two), Ollie Lockyear (two), Titus Paterson and Darren Boswell. Mike Huckett replied.
Brad Manton scored the only goal as Eastbourne Town won 1-0 at Ryman premier Carshalton.
