Bognor got back to winning ways in a thrilling 3-2 victory at Hayes.

Despite taking a slender advantage into the break, Bognor were made to work hard in a topsy-turvy second half which saw four goals, one of which was a penalty. Bognor took the lead in the 24th minute when rightback David Piper rifled home through a crowded box after a Richard Hudson cross fell into his path.

Only a double save within the space of 60 seconds from keeper Craig Stoner ensured the Rocks went in leading at the break.

Bognor were awarded a penalty in the 52nd minute when Ben Watson was brought down. Luke Nightingale scored from the spot.

The hosts reduced the arrears in the 58th minute when a ball over the top bounced horribly over defender Kevin Hemsley and Sean Ridgway lobbed home.

Bognor regained their two-goaladvantage when Nightingale added his second in the 80th minute with a far post header from a Dan Marney cross. Hayes' Jon Dyer turned in a free-kick in the 84th minute to complete the scoring.

Play-off hopefuls Eastbourne Borough and Welling United played out a 0-0 bore draw at Priory Lane.

Borough boast the best defensive record in the league and Welling's attackers failed to beat Lee Hook.

The first half was a dour affair.

Scott Ramsay flicked a header just wide from Andy Atkin's cross and then Atkin scooped over from eight yards after a clever turn in a crowded box.

Welling's main threat came from the tricky Matt Bodkin who went close with a dipping 20-yard volley. Danny Kedwell lashed an effort wide after Darren Baker missed a defensive header.

Welling started the second half with greater intent and Ellis Green's through ball saw Des Boateng's shot superbly saved by Hook.

Welling almost sneaked the winner when Mark Goodfellow wastefully headed over from six yards.

A frustrated Garry Wilson introduced Viktor Dolista and Matt Smart to the fray but even they failed to add any spark to the lacklustre Borough.
