Lewes manager Steven King is keeping his fingers crossed it will be third time lucky for him in the FA Cup this season.

His Rooks are one step away from emulating the club's run to the first round proper in 2001 after beating hosts Dorchester 4-0.

King's sides have twice fallen in the fourth qualifying round but the Dripping Pan boss hopes his latest team can make it after an outstanding display against their Conference south rivals.

Paul Booth made it five in his last five matches with goals in the 55th and 70th minutes to put Lewes into today's draw. That was after Andy Drury and Gary Holloway had sent them on their way with strikes in the opening 16 minutes.

King, in his fourth season in charge, said: "It was an unbelievable performance - the best of the season so far.

"The run five years ago was the only time the club have reached the first round proper - and I keep getting told about it. I hope it is third time lucky for me to get the monkey off my back.

"My players really want to get to the first round. It all depends on the luck of the draw."

Lewes: Crane, Hamilton, Perpetuini, Robinson, Simpemba, Wormull, Kennett (Kadi 45), Holloway, Drury (Storey 71), Booth, Sigere (Farrell 65).
