Sussex Police charge 18 over drink-driving offences in Christmas crackdown
Another 18 people have been charged with drink-related driving offences in Sussex.
It follows a high-profile police crackdown urging people to inform them of suspected drink or drug drivers.
Melanie Pontet-Piccolomini 37, of Mantell Drive, Cuckfield, was charged after being involved in a crash in South Road, Haywards Heath, on December 12.

Sadie Bradford, 22, of Orchard Road, Hove, was charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis after her arrest on December 18.
Mark Bott, 29, of Orchard Road, Hove, was charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis after his arrest in Hove on December 18.
Warren Minto, 33, of Latimer Road, Eastbourne, was charged with drink driving in East Grinstead on December 20.
Nicholas Brown, 52, of Orltons lane, Rusper, was charged with drink driving in Charlwood early on December 20.
Michael Griffin, 49, of Westbourne Villas, Hove, was charged with drink driving in Hove on December 20.
John Mills, 48, of Bexhill Road, Brighton, was charged with drink driving at Falmer Road, Rottingdean on December 20.
Trevor Harvey, 72, of Tulip Court, Horsham, was charged with drink driving, driving without a licence, insurance or MOT after a crash in Rushams Road, Horsham.
Nathan Jervis, 23, of Great Lime Kilns, Southwater, was arrested for drink driving in Horsham, on December 21, as was Martyn Hernon, 35, of Railway Approach, East Grinstead, arrested on Railway Approach, East Grinstead.
All will appear at Crawley or Brighton magistrates’ courts on January 15 or 16.
Aliona Puckiene, 34, of Regis Court, Bognor Regis, was charged with drink driving, driving without a licence and without insurance, after a car hit the kerb on the A259 Chichester Road on December 20.
Phoebe Kingston, 23, of Canning Road, Bognor Regis, was charged with drink driving after being stopped on the A259 at Drayton. Alex Abbott, 25, of Southgate, Chichester, was charged with drink driving at The Mannings in Shoreham on December 21.
All will appear at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on February 11.
Henry Fowler, 44, of Spences Lane, Lewes, was stopped on the A26 in South Heighton; and Carlo Boersma, 36, of Rutland Road, Hove, was arrested after a crash. Both will appear charged with drink driving at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on January 23.
Maria Hadlow, 48, of Wilmshurst Cottages, Punnett’s Town, was charged with drink driving after driving from a pub in Rushlake Green on December 20, and John Smith, 63, of Barley Mow Lane, Punnett’s Town, was arrested for drink driving at Flitter Brook Lane in Rushlake Green.
Both will appear at Hastings Magistrates’ Court on January 29.
Amir Ziaifard, 52, of Derwent Road, Eastbourne, was arrested in Princess Road, Eastbourne on December 22 and will appear at Hastings Magistrates’ Court on February 5.
The total number of people charged with drink or drug driving by Sussex Police was 82 as at midnight on Monday.
