A main road is blocked because of a fallen tree.

People reported the A273 was blocked from 3.40am due to fallen tree between A23 (Pyecombe) and B2112 New Road (Clayton).

Diversions were in place.

This tree stands proudly for year and years. The Greens come along and it falls down. Unbelievable. Probably committed suicide.

So why hasn't something been done to remove a tree fallen down on a main road. How many hours does it take? Ridiculous situation in this day and age.

Council, like the argus, are probably waiting for the tree to get up itself!

How big is this tree? Is its size beyond a few men who have the balls to shift it? Can a passing truck not drag it to one side?
It is the same when I hear on the breakfast radio that a broken-down car or van is causing mayhem on the A27 bypass. And still is 30min. later. Can't a few blokes shove it onto the verge out of the way?
