UPDATE: A driver was trapped after a tree landed on his lorry as he drove along the A26 at Newhaven this morning.
Emergency services were called after a tree came down on the Artic lorry at Tarring Neville at Newhaven at 10.16am today.
The road is still closed in both directions from the Beddingham roundabout at the north end and at South Heighton for the southern end
The driver was trapped in his cab but has been now freed.
He has minor injuries and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, by road ambulance.
An air ambulance landed but was not required.
