An eleven-year-old boy has been hit by a car in Seaford.

The incident occurred on Vale Road just after 8am this morning.

Sussex Police and ambulance crews are on the scene treating the boy. 

It is understood residents unsuccessfully rallied for the installation of traffic calming measures in the area.

The severity of his injuries is currently unknown and the incident is still ongoing.
