Latest from Sussex Police:
Road closures around the Lewes Road gyratory system in Brighton are expected to ease as police secured a man after reports of a gun being seen in the area.
Armed police were called at 2.17pm. A suspect went into a nearby house and police sealed off the building, which resulted in a number of local roads being closed, causing traffic disruption in the area.
Detective Superintendent Steve Black said: "We are aware that this operation is causing significant disruption, but it is essential that the cordon and road closures are in place to ensure the safety of people living and working locally and everyone involved.
"I would like to thank everyone for their co-operation. We are bringing the incident to a safe conclusion, but it will be necessary to remain in the area for some time. However, we are now lifting some of the restrictions."
Ben James tells us the man has been led out of the Sainsbury's side of the block of flats.
The southbound Lewes Road is now reopened, but the northbound remains closed.
Ben added that the man in handcuffs appeared to be quite grumpy.
