A robber snatched cash from a man who was attempting to buy food from a service station. 

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was robbed in the BP service station in Sedlescombe Road North, St Leonards on Sea, on Friday at 10pm. 

The 26-year-old victim was buying food when he was approached by the suspect who took £40 off him. No one was injured.

There is believed to be one suspect who is described as a black man, aged in his 20s, 5' 10" to 6' and of medium build.

He was wearing dark clothing and was seen leaving in a black Mercedes car.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 1575 of 6/6. Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Must be the only petrol station without CCTV then or if it does have it, it must be worth another pop in the not to distant future. Proof in the story the cops couldn't use it.....
