A BOOK charting the impact of the First World War on West Sussex has been published.

Great War Britain: West Sussex, Remembering 1914-18 has been an 18 month project involving more than 150 volunteers at West Sussex County Council Library and Archive services.

The book, which has been funded by a Heritage Lottery Fund grant of almost £90,000, charts the impact of WW1 on Sussex residents.

Among the subjects covered include agriculture and food, billeting and military, the home front, women at war and the Royal Sussex Regiment.

The book has been published by History Press and is on sale in all libraries in West Sussex as well as the West Sussex Record Office in Chichester priced at £12.99.
