Andy Murray announces engagement to long-term Sussex girlfriend Kim Sears
Tennis superstar Andy Murray has announced his engagement to long-term Sussex girlfriend Kim Sears.
The 26-year-old who grew up near Lewes has been in a relationship with the 27-year-old Scottish sportsman for nine years.
She has been a regular feature at many of Murray’s high profile matches including his recent Wimbledon campaigns.
The couple’s romance dates back to the French Open in 2005 – when the pair was aged just 18 and 17.
Her father is the former Lawn Tennis Association head of women’s tennis Nigel Sears.
Judy Murray, Andy’s mother, once described Miss Sears as ''the best thing to happen to Andy''.
